So, I am back online (although only on a temporary basis. Will have a full internet connection in a couple of weeks). Moving was quite tiring and stressful, but our place is beautiful and my room is already feeling like home :)
Getting to know the area and doing a lot of wandering around.. If anyone from London knows of any really good charity shops or car boot sales in the east/north east area I would love to hear about them!
Here are a few assorted photos from the last few days, and an outfit post in which I am wearing some vintage cut off shorts, vintage blouse, vintage bag...and yeah...vintage!!
Sorry for my lack of replies and comments on your blogs, I will get back to you all shortly!
x
LOVE THIS SHORTS!!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures, you look lovely in the last photograph, i adore your vintage blouse.
ReplyDeletei can't recommend you anywhere in the east/north east, but battersea has a great car boot sale which i go to every sunday, plus if you read my blog you'll know there is a lovely chairty shop nearby where i volunteer and buy the majority of my clothes :)
love, jazzabelle. xx
Love the detailing of your vintage blouse!!

Wowretro in Covent Garden is supposed to be good if you get there! I know that's more central, but. Also Beyond Retro in Brick Lane!
ReplyDeleteALSO, Inspiral cafe in Camden :) it's just past the canal bridge on the left of the main high street before the Stables. Vegan/veggie and so nice. I must go there when I'm in London this month.
your photos ALWAYS AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteHej, been following you blog for quite some time, I love it! You're pictures are always so beautiful, even poetic :) What an amazing fan ^^
ReplyDeleteHi Constance,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the big smoke :)
A pretty thrilling time for you at the mo, I'd expect.
I live in North London & there are loads of charity shops dotted about, my advise would be to just continue doing what you are already doing & explore your local area, you are bound to find some good charity shops almost right on your doorstep.
For car boot sales check out the 'Top Ten Car Boot Sales Around London - Time Out' webpage.
Battersea is always a good bet but it’s worthwhile checking out some of the smaller ones too.
Good luck & I hope you settle in well.
Take care,
Jem

Hello Constance,
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are WOW. I love your blouse.
It seems like you really enjoyed your new home!
Love,

If you're heading towards East London, a great place to get vintage clothes is Brick Lane, places such as Rokit and Absolute Vintage.
ReplyDeleteTowards the North-West, in Camden, there are a few vintage stores, but the best is no doubt Episode. It is situated between Chalk Farm Tube Station and Camden Tube Station, on the same side of the road as Nandos and Cottons.
By the way if you're new to London then you're probably relatively new to the Tube (well at least knowing what is where). Camden or Chalk Farm are on the Northern Line and Brick Lane's closest tube station is Aldgate East or Aldgate. Aldgate East is on the Hammersmith and City or District Line, while Aldgate is on the Metropolitan or Circle Line.
Hope this was helpful xxx
you look awesome

Love the blog and here's a few ideas for some vintage hotspots:
ReplyDeleteCancer reserch,Islington
Portabello rd market
Bricklane market
Asolute vintage
Rokit (brick lane)
Petticote lane market
Greenwich market (and various vintage shops in greenwich)
and lastly just one little tip: seriously it's so easy to find good vintage and charity shops basically just pick out any area that is fairly affluent and i guarentee there will be a gem of a charity shop just round the courner x Hope that helped a little.
P.s keep up the good blogging!
Very nice photos. I like the colour tone of them!
ReplyDeleteLove the lighting in these photos!

ReplyDeleteHey, I was just browsing some of my favorite blogs that i haven't seen in a while and yours was on the list and i am surprised and pleased to see you've moved to london (where i live!)... I live in turnpike lane, what about you? and I am looking for a place with my boyfriend, would you mind telling me more about the place you found, the area, and how much you are paying for it?
ReplyDeleteyour photos are as beautiful as always...
I have written to you a few times in comments before and have bought a few of your items on ebay (notably the red long sleeve wooly top, the notes topshop tee and the black jersey skirt) so you might remember me this way...
